Top NFL Betting Picks For Week 1
A full day of NFL action is upon us, so let’s get right into it with my top 2 picks for the early games today:
- St. Louis Rams -1 (-110) over the Carolina Panthers. Carolina, for the first time in years, isn’t expected to go to the Super Bowl. That is good, because I’m not even certain they are a .500 team. Although the Panthers beat St. Louis 15-0 at home last season, I don’t see St. Louis losing this opening game at home. The Rams, behind Bulger and Jackson, have the best offense in the NFC. Stephen Jackson is a load to bring down and Bulger has multiple weapons in the receiving corps. The Rams defense is not very good, but it doesn’t take much defense to stop the impotent Carolina offense.
- Miami Dolphins +3 (-110) over the Washington Redskins. I’m picking the road dog here as I am really unimpressed with the Washington Redskins. Their players don’t instill fear in their opponents on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. I like Miami’s defense and think the offense will be vastly improved under Trent Green and the new management. There is big pressure on Miami to sniff the playoffs this season. I’m looking for the Dolphins to get off to a fast start in 2007.
